Rehabs in Mexico:
The Harsh Reality

In Baja California, Mexico, thousands of men and women with drug and alcohol addictions (age 12 and older) have been forced into Rehab Centers by their families who can no longer help them.

These are very different from American Rehab Centers. They are more like jails… locked-down, concrete structures with barred windows, barbed wire and minimal furnishings. Residents are called inmates.

In Ensenada, there are an estimated 300 Rehab Centers with around 30 inmates each. That’s an alarming total
of 9,000 men, women and children.

The average inmate stays in rehab 6-9 months, then returns to the same life as before. They have tried and failed many times to break free from their addictions.

Willpower is just not enough.

The Current Dead-end Solution.

No proper medical help is given to the “inmates” in the rehab centers, and this leads to rehab centers being a dead-end solution (if it’s any solution at all) to drug addition.

Inmates are often left to “dry out”, meaning being put in a small locked room to sweat it out / hallucinate / yell. This does VERY little in helping them with their addiction. Eventually, they fall back into addiction almost immediately upon being released.

It’s a vicious cycle that ends with no hope & no future.

After they are released, 80% of inmates return to the rehab center or go to prison.

We want to change this.

Forgotten by many, but God leaves no one behind.

We know for a fact that so many inmates who return to rehab centers or go back to prison are those who are helpless and lost, who are still seeking for a seemingly impossible, restored life. This new, restored life that can only be found in Jesus. 1 Page A Day brings them hope and healing.

Know Him

Hearing and receiving the Good News of God’s plan of salvation for them is a life-changing beginning for their new life in Christ.

Grow In Him

Our ministry equips and disciples inmates to learn to live a Christ-centered life beyond the walls of the rehab center.

Show Him

It is our hope that after inmates leave the rehab center their broken family relationships will be restored. And will positively impact the community to which they return.

1PAD is partnered with 30 Rehab Centers

1 Page a Day (1PAD) was born from the deep passion God gave Jeff Lamb to reach addicts with God’s love. Jeff himself was an addict for 29 years and knows the pain of feeling hopeless and the despair of losing everything.

Lifeline Behind The Work

The Mexico team develops and implements the Christ-centered programming
for the rehab centers that is specifically-designed to help inmates with
the life struggles and spiritual issues that are common to them.

Will You Partner With 1PAD?

The harsh reality of these inmates is clearly evident. But who will tell them about their heavenly Father’s love for
them and the freedom found in a new relationship with Jesus? 1PAD and you!
